SORATA TO CONDORIRI Trek and Climbing Pequeño Alpamayo – 13 Days
Day 1. LA PAZ – SORATA Departure from La Paz in vehicle to Sorata town, a beautiful flowered valley at the botton of Illampu snow-capped mountain at an altitude of 2.800 m. where we stay the first night in a hotel.
Day 2. SORATA – JANQ’U UMA We continue the trip in transport until the high valley of Janq’u Uma situated in the slopes of the North-Oriental side of Illampu. Camping at 3.900 m.
Day 3. JANQ’U UMA – COCOYO After two hours trek we arrive to Kurahuaside pass at 4.479 m., after that we descend to 3.900 m. in a six hours trek.
A two hours ascension until Sarani pass at 4.500 m. From there we see the snow-capped mountain like Warawarani (Negruni) and others. We descend to the other camp in a six hours trek.
Day 5. CH’AJOLPAYA – CHACAPA
Silasani pass at 4.650 m. after we descend until the camp by the Chacapa river in a 6 hours trek.
Day 6. CHACAPA – PALCA Keakeani pass at 4.450 m. Descent to the valley near Amawaya until we arrive to the camp of Palca at 3.900 m. in a five hours trek.
Day 7. PALCA – HUARIHUARINI We continue to Hankolacaya pass at 4.700 m. after we descend to Amawaya Valley at 4.450 m. in a 6 hours trek.
Day 8. HUARIHUARINI – JANQ’U QUTA Hanq’u Qutaa pass at 4.550 m. from where we pass through the Royal Mountain Range and we descend to Jaq’u Quta Valley, we camp near Quta Tiya lake at at 4.420 m.
Day 9. JANQ’U QUTA – AJWANI A pass at 4.600 m. After we walk around the Cheqapa slopes where we see abandoned gold mines. We go up to Ajwani for camping at 4.700 m.
Day 10. AJWANI – JURI QUTA After a six hours trek we have the Janchallani pass at 4.860 m. to go the second pass called Juri Quta at 4.900 m. where we camp.
Day 11. JURI QUTA – CONDORIRI
We go to the highest pass of the trek called Apacheta at 5.200 m., after we descend until Chiara Qutade Lagoon at 4.700 m. is the same base camp to climb different mountain like Condoriri and others. Day 12.
We stay in the Condoriri National Park Day 13: PEQUEÑO ALPAMAYO CLIMB
At 00:00 am. we prepare the climbing gear and breakfast; after that, we go to the Pequeño Alpamayo summit at 5.350 m., a six to seven ours ascension, a short rest and we continue the descent of four hours to the base camp to ger the return transport to La Paz city.
INCLUDES :
Climbing gear: mountain boots, harness, ice axe, crampons, trousers, jacket, gloves, gaiters, cap an tent.
NOT INCLUDED : Sun glasses, sleeping bag, wrapped clothes, normal gloves, backpack (60 litres or more), small backpack (5 litres or more), frontal lamp.
