JURI QUTA TO HUAYNA POTOSI (6.088 m - 19.968 ft) Trekking 4 days and Climbing 2 days
Day 1. LA PAZ – JURI QUTA Departure from La Paz at 09:00 am. after two hours trip we arrive to Tuni, whre we leave the vehicle. Afterwards we immediately take the mules for all the camping equipment. Later we begin a four hours trek to arrive to Juri Quta camp at 4.700 m. where we stay the first night.
Day 2. JURI QUTA – CONDORIRI
We go up following the direction of the Austria peak at 5.200 m., the highest pass of the trek, after we descend to the Condoriri’s base camp, the Ch’iyara Quta a lagoon at 4.700 m.
Day 3. CONDORIRI – MARIA LLOCO
Breakfast at 08:00 am. and we prepare all the camping equipment, after that we continue with a six hours trek, passing through two high points at 4.950 m. until we arrive to Maria Lloco where we stay the third night.
Day 4. Maria Lloco – Base Camp After lunch we go to the Base Camp of Huayna Potosí 4.700 m, four hours trek, we arrive around 01:00 pm. and we stay there all the afternoon.
HUAYNA POTOSI 2 Days Climb Day 5. LA PAZ – BASE CAMP After breakfast we begin to climb to the High Camp at 5.200 m. during three hours, there we stay the night.
Day 6. HIGH CAMP – SUMMIT From 01:00 am. breakfast and we prepare the climbing gear, after that we begin to climb until the Huayna Potosí summit at 6.088 m. during 5 to 6 hours. From the summit we can see the Royal Mountain Range, the High Plateau, the Titicaca Lake. Afterwards we come back to the base camp where we get the transport to return to La Paz city.
INCLUDES :
In regard to the climbing we have plastic boots, crampons, harness, ice axe, jacket, trousers, gloves, gaiters, caps, mattress and tent.
NOT INCLUDED : Sun glasses, sleeping bag, wrapped clothes, normal gloves, backpack (60 litres or more), small backpack (5 litres or more), frontal lamp.
