HUAYNA POTOSI (6.088 m - 19.968 ft) Climbing 2 Days or 3 Days
Day 1. LA PAZ – BASE CAMP Departure from La Paz at 09:00 am., after an hour and a half trip we arrive to the Base Camp of Huayna Potosí at 4.700 m. After, we prepare our camp we begin a trek of 40 minutes approximately to the glacial, where during the morning and afternoon we have a basic training to climb in glacials, after we finish the practice we return to the base camp where we spend the night.
Day 2. BASE CAMP – HIGH CAMP After lunch ar around 09:00 am. we begin our climb to the high camp at 5.200 m. during three hours, there we will pass the second night.
Day 3. HIGH CAMP – SUMMIT At 01:00 am. we prepare the equipment and breakfast, after that we climb to the Huayna Potosí summit at 6.088 m., 5 to 6 hours climb, from there we see all the Andean Royal Mountain Range. Finally, we return to the high camp, an hour rest, after that the descent to the base camp to get the return vehicle to La Paz city.
INCLUDES :
In regard to the climbing gear we have plastic boots, crampons, harness, ice axe, jacket, trousers, gloves, gaiters, mattress, and tent. NOT INCLUDED : Sun glasses, sleeping bag, wrapped clothes, normal gloves, backpack (60 litres or more), small backpack (5 litres or more), frontal lamp.
